We've taken FirstRing a step further! These improvements give you an even better overview during a crisis and allow you to tailor your crisis communication more effectively.
In these release notes, we'll cover three topics:
- The Six Signs: The familiar BOB methodology is now fully integrated into FirstRing.
- "Stakeholders" and " leadership": two new menu items.
- The monthly FirstRing webinar: every first Tuesday of the month, a chance to refresh your knowledge and discover the latest features.
📋 The Six Boards: From Information to Overview
The “Six Boards” methodology is now also available in FirstRing! The six boards form the basis of the BOB methodology for crisis communication: perception, assessment, and decision-making. They help crisis teams maintain an overview, jointly set priorities, and document decisions and actions.
How does it work in FirstRing?
You’ll find the six panels in the top-left corner of the menu. Once FirstRing has generated all the output, the panels are automatically populated. To do this, FirstRing uses the factual information, the “ public sentiment assessment ,” and all other information and communication channels that the system has compiled. This way, all key facts, considerations, communication channels, and action items are brought together in a single overview.
The boards can be used immediately as a basis for the crisis communication team's discussions. You can view all six boards at once, zoom in and out to adjust the view to fit your screen, or enlarge a single board to see the details.
If new information comes in, you can update the boards at any time, so your discussions are always based on the most up-to-date information.

👥 New on the menu: Stakeholders and leadership
We've added two new sections to the FirstRing menu: "Stakeholders" and " leadership." These will give you even more insight into who is involved in a crisis and how you can best use the " leadership ."
👥 Stakeholders: Who Is Involved?
Under “Stakeholders,” you’ll find a handy list of crisis partners as well as the circle of affected parties. The latter identifies which groups have been directly affected by the crisis, who else is involved, and who feels affected. This gives you a quick overview of the various groups you need to take into account in your crisis communication.
🎙️ leadership: Which role is right for the situation?
leadership consists of three sections. FirstRing creates a “ sense-making ” and a “statement” for the “ leadership ,” provides insight into the emotions at play, and explains how the “ leadership ” can address them. You’ll also receive advice on using the “ figurehead ”: when is the best time for your “ leadership ” to make a public appearance, and in what form?
FirstRing not only helps you craft the right message, but also makes informed decisions about who is best suited to convey that message.
