FirstRing has added several great new features and improvements:
- Our chat has become agentic, and we'll explain exactly what that means
- The strategy has been made much easier to read
- Recommendations regarding the use of figureheads are now generated separately
- You can upload your own plan
- Two-factor authentication (2FA) can be enabled
🤖 Chat is agentic
The chat feature in FirstRing has been updated and is now an integral part of FirstRing. You’ll find it in a slide-out panel on the right side, so you can quickly ask questions, edit text, or put the chat to work while you’re working.
What's new is that the chat is agent-based. This means that the chat not only provides answers, but can also call upon various specialized agents, combine their work, and perform actions within FirstRing.
For example, you can ask questions about your strategy, have a text refined, or instruct the chatbot to add the role of environmental analyst to Team and Process. This way, the chatbot not only helps you better understand information, but it can also get to work for you!
📖 Strategy is easier to understand
Anyone who has ever looked at a strategy in FirstRing knows that it contains quite a bit of information. It’s valuable, but sometimes there’s just a lot of text all at once.
That’s why we’ve made the strategy easier to read and more organized. The different sections are now presented in clear text blocks that you can expand yourself. This allows you to quickly find the information you need at any given moment, without losing the bigger picture.
So all the content is still there; you just don't have to scroll through everything to find what you're looking for.
👤 Advice on figureheads at the right time
At the bottom of the strategy, you can see which role models might be relevant in a crisis. Previously, immediate advice on how to utilize these role models was also automatically provided there.
We made that change intentionally. At the start of a crisis, there is often not enough information yet to determine whether, when, and how to use a figurehead . Furthermore, because the advice was immediately visible, it could have given the impression that you should use a figurehead from the very beginning of every crisis.
That’s why you should generate this advice separately now, at the moment it actually becomes the next step. That way, you’ll receive the advice when it matters, based on the strategy you’ve developed so far.
⚙️ New options in your profile settings
Two new options have also been added to the profile settings.
You can now enable two-step verification (2FA). This adds an extra layer of security to your account. Two-step verification is turned off by default, so you'll need to enable it yourself for your account.
In addition, you can now also add your own plans to FirstRing. You can upload up to five Word or PDF files, each up to 20 MB in size—for example, your crisis communication plan or a document outlining roles and responsibilities.
FirstRing then uses these documents during a crisis to gather relevant information and incorporate it into its strategy and communications. You can also use the chat feature, for example, to generate action items based on your own crisis plan.
This way, FirstRing aligns even better with the way your organization has agreed to operate during a crisis.
